GoGift is committed to:

  • maintaining a standard of excellence in all facets of our global business

  • demonstrating respect for the environment

We expect all our Business Partners to uphold the same commitments and require them to meet the following standards at a minimum. Child labour

GoGift is committed to protecting children's fundamental human rights and ensures that neither GoGift nor our Business Partners employ child labour. All employees must meet the minimum age requirements set by applicable laws and regulations or be at least 15 years old*, whichever is greater.

In cases where local law permits employment at 14 years of age, GoGift may grant written approval on an ad-hoc basis, considering the specific type of work and the local age requirement for completing compulsory education, if any.

GoGift and Business Partners employing young individuals who do not qualify as children (under 15 years of age) must still comply with all relevant laws and regulations pertaining to such individuals.

*Nevertheless, GoGift acknowledges that children may work in compliance with national legislation enacted under the EU Council Directive 94/33/EC of June 22, 1994, Section 1, Articles 1 and 4.

Freedom of Employment

GoGift and our Business Partners must not use any form of forced, bonded, or involuntary labour.

Coercion and Harassment

GoGift and our Business Partners must treat all employees with dignity and respect. The use of corporal punishment, threats of violence, or any form of physical, sexual, psychological, or verbal harassment or abuse is strictly prohibited.

Non-discrimination

GoGift and our Business Partners must ensure non-discrimination in hiring and employment practices. This includes salary, benefits, promotions, discipline, termination, and retirement, regardless of race, religion, age, nationality, social or ethnic origin, sexual orientation, gender, political opinion or disability.

Freedom of Association

GoGift and our Business Partners must uphold the rights of employees to lawfully and peacefully associate, organize, and engage in collective bargaining, free from penalties or interference.

Health and Safety

GoGift and our Business Partners are required to ensure a safe and healthy work environment for employees by adhering to all relevant laws and regulations. This includes preventing accidents and health hazards while providing, at a minimum, reasonable access to drinking water and sanitary facilities, fire safety measures, and sufficient lighting and ventilation.

Compensation

GoGift and our Business Partners acknowledge that fair wages are critical for employees to meet their basic needs. Therefore, they must, at a minimum, adhere to all relevant laws and regulations regarding wages and working hours. This includes compliance with minimum wage requirements, overtime, maximum working hours, piece rates, and other compensation elements, as well as providing all legally mandated benefits.

Overtime compensation

Employees must receive compensation for overtime hours at the premium rate mandated by the laws of the relevant country. If local laws do not specify overtime pay, then at a minimum, regular wages should be provided for any overtime work.

Hours of work

Except in exceptional business circumstances*, GoGift and our Business Partners must not require employees to work more than the lesser of (a) 48 hours per week plus 12 hours of overtime, or (b) the maximum regular and overtime hours permitted by local law. If local law does not specify work hour limits, employees should work no more than the standard weekly hours in that country plus 12 hours of overtime. Additionally, except under extraordinary business conditions, employees are entitled to a minimum of one day off in any seven-day period.

*Extraordinary business circumstances are defined as production activities that fall outside the regular production or business operations. These circumstances are expected to occur only for a short duration of time.

Protection of the Environment

GoGift and our Business Partners must adhere to all relevant environmental laws and regulations.

Anti-corruption and Bribery

Specifically, (i) attempting to gain undue advantage by promising, offering, giving, or accepting anything of value, directly or indirectly, to or from any public official, business partner, or any other third party, or (ii) engaging in any other forms of corruption, such as bribery, facilitation payments, embezzlement, blackmail, nepotism, or fraud, which aim to unjustly obtain improper advantages or influence the outcome of business dealings. Business Partners must ensure that all relevant employees and third parties are knowledgeable about and comply with relevant anti-corruption laws and regulations.

Gifts and Entertainment

GoGift and our Business Partners must refrain from providing funding, donations, extravagant gifts, or lavish entertainment or hospitality to any employees or other associates within GoGift in an attempt to influence business decisions. Business Partners must ensure that all gifts and entertainment offered to GoGift’s employees are transparent, modest, infrequent, appropriate, and pertinent to business. Gifts and entertainment should never be provided in exchange for favours, in the form of cash or cash equivalents, or include entertainment of a sexual or similarly inappropriate nature.
